FAQ

To the comics!

Q: Why "Auroracity"? Shouldn't that be "Tina Moonlight" or something?
A: I didn't like the name "moonlight.keenspace.com" (sounds like another clanofthecats ;) ). Also, I don't like stories being named after their main character. And Aurora City was at first an online RPG placed in this universe... some may still remember the name. The 'real' Aurora City has yet to appear in the comic.

Q: What's the deal with the "phases" and "chapters"?
A: Yes, I know it's a general prejudice about stupid scifi "epics" to start with chapter 4. Anyway, my first comic (so bad I won't dare to post the pictures here) started with chapter one, and it was BORING... But don't worry, the other chapters will be flashback'd soon!
-The phases are my current way to separate the story into nice chunks, with flashbacks and all. Stupid, I know.

Q: Where did the name "Tina Moonlight" come from, again?
A: IRL, I made the name up a long time ago. She was, so to say, my first character I ever gave a whole story. (That's also why the first chapters are so youthfully-heroic and done only in flashbacks.)
In the story, Tina was named by the policemen that found her at the Moonlight nightclub as a child and thought it a witty idea. Where her first name came from, nobody knows - she just always was called so...

Q: This whole story looks like a mélange of Star Wars on ace, Shadowrun and diverse daft Anime and Scifi movies of the 80's!
A: Well, yes. That's what it is. Among the people/stories that influenced me in the first designing of the story (I was about 10 then) my memories of what I saw on TV in the 80's were most prevalent. BTW, if anybody finds clips of Leiji Matsumoto's Queen Millennia on the web, I'd be thankful if he/she'd point me to them...

Q: You're a Wintercomic ripoff! And BTW, doesn't the main character look like Jordan Kennedy from Exploitation Now?
A: As you have maybe noticed, Tina does NOT have a Mecha-arm. As for wintercomic, grey/white comics look boring, that's the reason why I added some color. Too, the color depends on the location the comic is set at. So space would be blue, while scenes on the Earth are colored green.

Q: How's it all gonna end?
A: It's a secret. No, I'm not making (all of) it up as I go along, the story is already formed in my mind since years ago. About when I reveal what, I left some freedom for now, though...
